Last year, just from one source we received enough money to fund 3+ scholarships. It really works.

Your Donations At Work

The past 7 years have been very exciting for the Foundation. To date

In 2006, we presented another $3,500.00 to Dr. Stephen Kamin, of UMDNJ, to help him continue his research in developing better treatments and finding a cure for MS; and $3,500 to Dr. Aaron Chevinsky of the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, at Morristown Memorial Hospital, for his research in Breast Cancer Surgical Oncology.

In addition, the Foundation was the recipient of a $900.00 donation from Tapestry, a coffee shop in Netcong, NJ. The coffee shop sponsored a motorcycle road rally to benefit cancer research. This money was allocated to Dr. Chevinsky, separate from to the Foundation’s donation.

Also in 2006, we presented our first scholarship to Adam Lintz, of West Essex High School. Adam was awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship to study the classical bassoon at the Julliard School of Music in New York City.

Last year, 2007, was an amazing year for the Foundation. It was a year of great satisfaction for the Foundation and also a year of change.

Due to the generosity of our benefactors and the success of our two main fund raisers, we were able to present both Dr. Kamin and Dr. Chevinsky donations that amounted to $4,000 each for their respective research projects.

We received nine music scholarship applications and three art scholarship applications. The musicians were so talented that we felt compelled to award $1,500.00 each to an undergraduate student, Jacek Blaszkiewicz; and a graduate student, Crista Orefice. Both students are studying at Montclair State University. The art scholarship, of $1,500.00 went to Anna Choi, who is a graduate student at Montclair State University.

All scholarship recipients are pursuing their chosen fields in an effort to help people. Jacek and Anna are pursuing their fields to bring a love of music and art to the students they hope to teach one day. In Crista’s case, she has a truly beautiful voice and is studying Music Therapy. This is a method by which music is used to help sick people get better.

In 2007, we changed the venue of our annual benefit concert, which was held at Just Jakes, in Montclair, NJ. This was a very successful move. 2008 will see us back at Just Jakes on Sunday, June 8th.

We also moved the annual golf outing to the famous Black Bear Golf Club in Hamburg, NJ. Because of this move, the annual golf outing was a huge success. We plan on being back at Black Bear Golf Club in 2008. The date for the outing is Monday, September 8th.
